My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Almost four years ago, Lenny Best came to Our Lady of Loreto Parish to assist us with our stewardship efforts and development. Lenny helped us to organize the Fulfilling Hope initiative which has raised approximately $8 million dollars for the construction of the Saint Joseph Ministry Center, the elimination of our parish debt, and other projects. He has contributed to and participated in our parish life in so many other ways, too.
This past year Lenny passed the Bar exam and was welcomed into the Colorado Bar Association. As a lawyer he has much to contribute to the church and to the good of families and individuals. His interest in practicing law is to serve families by helping them plan their estates, including wills and trusts, inheritance law, elder care planning, and small family business. Lenny will be leaving OLOL Parish in order to devote full time to the development of a law practice, the solicitation and procurement of clients, and the continued service of the church as a “private citizen.” Lenny’s last day in the parish will be next Friday, November 4.
I want to express my personal gratitude and appreciation to Lenny for all that he has contributed to the betterment of our Catholic Christian life here at OLOL. I know that you too join me in thanking him. But I am especially grateful that you join me in prayer for Lenny’s family and future—for his wife, Tiffany, for their four children, and for all those whom the Lord will want to bring to Lenny to be served and to serve with him. We wish him good luck and God’s blessings.
You can still register for next years Holy Land Pilgrimage, scheduled for October 21—November 4, 2012. We have 28 persons registered, including a family making the pilgrimage together as a family with their teenage and young adult children. The pilgrimage costs around $4200 per person, double occupancy. The itinerary and explanation of all elements of the pilgrimage and a registration form can be found at www.travelillume.com/trc/llp. Or contact me for more information; I’ll be glad to fill you in on the details.
Also, a reminder that OLOL has begun electronic giving to facilitate your stewardship offering. You may make your tithes, donations, and contributions electronically. Simply log on to www.OurLadyofLoreto.org. On the home page click the Donate Now button and set up your account. Electronic giving offers you a very secure, paperless environment in which to tithe and donate. It allows you to set up your own secure account through our web site and determine the amount of tithing and giving you commit to the parish, as well as the frequency, etc. You can choose a bank draft similar to an ACH (Automatic Clearing House) withdrawal from your bank account or your can charge your giving to your credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discovery). If the later you also have the option of increasing your contribution by 3% to cover your transaction fees. No one on the parish staff has access to your account; it is absolutely private, confidential, and secure. You may use electronic giving to fulfill both your regular offertory tithe and/or your capital donation to the Fulfilling Hope/St. Joseph Ministry Center Initiative. I encourage you to check it out at www.OurLadyofLoreto.org.
